Found during the night of 2026-11-02: in docs/briefs/batch.txt the names had no .md, and the driver only noticed when it reached the brief (CUT s2-bounds-report: brief missing). The driver then sat idle until the next check-in, about an hour.

To build

  1. When drive.nika / batch.nika starts, check every line of DIR/batch.txt against an existing file. A missing name is refused at once and names the line, and a name without .md gets the hint “the name carries .md”.
  2. Add a script test with a batch that names a missing brief.
