Needs: push by the driver (local develop is 4 ahead and 3 behind origin, commit.nika committed locally); drive.nika’s autostash rebase (14b580c5 onto 1fa135de) dropped my uncommitted files (re-applied from autostash c76cbd6f) and folded my Part III hunks (hash::sha256_hex paragraph after crc32c, the std::env entry in 17.1) into the other agent’s rebased 920d8608, so they reach develop with that commit
Changelog: std: hash::sha256_hex(data) is the SHA-256 digest in lowercase hex; env::var(name) reads an environment variable (null when unset, empty or not Unicode) and env::temp_dir() names the temporary directory (#922 steps 1-2)
