place/floor into Nikaia (#125)Score: self-hosting lane (docs/priorities.md; docs/selfhosting-plan.md, C-7 rest and E12, row E12-3, second half). About 190 Rust lines; E12-3a put self-hosting at 79.0 %.
Seeds (crates/nikaia/src/emit/seeds.rs, 167 lines) now holds tables: EmitSeedsTables (Nikaia) and shapes: BTreeMap<String, contracts::maps::Shape> (Rust, stays: the maps Shape is not ty.nika’s). Every query of Seeds except shape already forwards to EmitSeedsTables (is_fixed, positions=count, mentions_a_struct, arity, is_empty, write=emit_seeds_write).EmitState is passed ref self (read-only); the mutable walk state is EmitWalk (tools/emit_state.nika:164, mut walk). Rust code that runs inside a host call reaches the walk through Emitter::hosted (emit/host.rs:86, self.w). So the plan’s “place/floor move into EmitState” means: into EmitWalk (decided here; mutable per walk).emit/host.rs seeds_begin :267-343, seeds_end :345, seeded :357, seeds_arity :396, place_declare_type :400, place_finish :404, place_enter :408, place_leave :412, set_floor :416; emit/mod.rs Emitter.place :852, floor :854 (init :1239-1240), Emitter::seeded :1349-1366 (called by ty_filled :1345, whose only caller is ty_named in host.rs:115, inside hosted).emit_function.nika:213 (host.seeded), :269 (host.seeds_begin), :825 (host.seeds_end); emit_item.nika:220,222,259,478,488,536,545,590; emit_stmt.nika:441. Host trait: tools/emit_host.nika (seeded :107 and the others). Target for the logic: tools/emit_seeds.nika (it already has emit_seeds_declare_fn, emit_seeds_declare, emit_seeds_finish, emit_seeds_enter, emit_seeds_leave, emit_seeds_within, emit_seeds_write).place: EmitSeedsPlace and floor: bool move into EmitWalk; Emitter.place/floor are removed; Emitter::seeded (Rust, for ty_filled) reads them from the walk held in self.w. EmitState gets the seed tables (EmitSeedsTables, moved or cloned once when the state is built: say which in Body:). Remove place_declare_type, place_finish, place_enter, place_leave, set_floor, seeds_arity from the host: their callers use walk.place / walk.floor / the tables directly. Commit (Part of #125).seeds_begin, seeds_end and seeded become Nikaia functions in emit_seeds.nika over (EmitState’s tables, mut walk, the item); the only host method left is seeds_shape(key) -> (groups: Vec[i64], within: Vec[i64], start: i64)? (Rust looks up Seeds::shape; within’s None crosses as -1, as now). trusted_input comes from EmitState. Remove the moved Rust. Commit (Part of #125). Both steps in one commit is fine if step 1 alone would be rewritten at once (say so in Body:).CLAUDE.md, Fix, do not work around); if it cannot be fixed here, stop and report blocked.lower-std byte-identical apart from the moved code (the oracle); it filters seed, map, hash, barrier, trusted, and the guard set of .claude/agents/builder.md; nikaia test tests/compiler --both-settings; python3 scripts/self_hosting.py figure under Tests:. Changelog: none (no behaviour changes).
An output of lower-std or a test changes beyond the moved code; a Rust caller of place/floor outside a hosted call (then self.w is empty: report it with its location, do not add a second copy); an error in another agent’s file.
